Is Mariela Eligible for the MEP Program?
Mariela Garcia is thirteen years old. In August of 2019, Mariela moved with her mother from Nashville, TN to Washington State. A few days after arriving in Washington State, Mariela’s mother began to work picking apples. On February 2nd, 2020, Mariela moved with her mother from Washington State back to Nashville, TN so that her mother could look for different work. A month after arriving back in Nashville, TN, Tennessee Child Protective Services took Mariela from her mother’s home due to family problems. Since then, Mariela has been living with her aunt. A MEP recruiter visits and interviews Mariela at her aunt’s home on September 15th, 2020.
